Take a Peek Inside California’s Famous “Flintstone House”

Okay, so this isn’t actually the house of Bedrock couple Fred and Wilma. It’s a little too, well, three-dimensional for that.

It’s still pretty darn cool, though.

The 2,730 square foot home was designed and built in 1976 by architect William Nicholson and builder Wayne Da San Martino. And it wasn’t constructed like any other house. To get those stone-age domes, builders sprayed shotcrete onto steel and mesh frames supported by aeronautical balloons.

The inside is just as quirky as the exterior. You’ll find a stone bathtub, a conversation pit, and many unique touches by artists. If this sounds like the house of your dreams, boy, have we got a surprise for you. The house is currently on the market for $3,195,000 and features 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and overlooks a reservoir.

You can take a look inside below, or visit here for a virtual tour.
