Best Laptops Under $200 in 2016-2017

It’s amazing to be alive in this day and age when you can now get a laptop cheaper than the cost of a mobile phone or even a higher end NVIDIA GeForce video card.  Only a 3 decades ago, a flat panel was unheard of, and a hard drive was 5 times the price of a $200 laptop today.  $200 to spend on a laptop today gives you much better options that what they used to be.  While you might not be able to play graphic intensive games or do video editing, they are more than enough for basic daily functions, like browsing the Internet or using office programs.

Today, most applications are now on the cloud, meaning, you don’t need much to run many applications, as all the processing is done on the server in the cloud.

Today you can get a $200 laptop and get useful functions and hardware like an HD display, Windows 10, HDMI port, a decent hard drive, and sometimes even touch screen. Here are some of our favorite full Windows 10 machines (compatible with Linux) for 2016-2017.

Asus E402SA

You can find an Asus E402SA for as low as $179. It’s 14-inch compact design with resolution of 1366 x 768 and glossy display looks great and is not a big drain on the battery. The laptop has a Intel Celeron N3050 processor, full-sized SD memory card slot and two USB ports (one is even USB 3.0). Turn one screw to remove the bottom panel and upgrade your memory and storage to SSD quite easily.

ASUS EeeBook E402MA-WX0055T

You can find the ASUS EeeBook E402MA-WX0055T for $189.  This laptop has a Intel® Dual-Core N2840 Processor.  It give you a larger 14 inch display, more than adequate storage, and is packed with technologies designed to enhance your computing experience, making it the best choice for daily productivity tasks and entertainment.

Dell Inspiron 11 3000 (I3162-0000BLU)

You can find the Dell Inspiron 11 3000 for $199. Dell commonly offers nice looking laptops, and this one is no different. It appears to have been built with good quality, and has all the ports you need, like USB 3.0, HDMI, and a microSD slot. This laptop has a Celeron N3050 dual-core processor and is sufficient enough to power your basic Internet browsing and office programs.

Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11

The Acer Aspire One Cloudbook 11 has been seen as low as $145 and as high as $320 for larger memory. It’s style is a little bit cramped, but it functions well otherwise. This laptop has a Celeron N3050 dual-core chip and like all others in it’s class, is sufficient enough to power your basic Internet browsing and office programs.

Lenovo Ideapad 100s

The Lenovo Ideapad 100s can be found for $149-$179. It feels a little cheap with it’s plastic feel and appearance; they made it available in a few colors, perhaps to get people past that underwhelming quality appearance. This laptop has an older quad core Intel Atom Z3735F chip, but still slower than the Celeron N3050 dual-core processor found in rival machines. There are no 3.0 USB ports on this machine as well. One good thing about this laptop is it’s stronger battery life, and does the job like all the others.

HP Stream 11 (2016)

HP Stream 11 can be found for $198-209. What makes this laptop appealing is it’s almost full size keys and keyboard. This laptop has an Intel Celeron N3050, and while it is slower and not that great for multi-tasking, it can still do the job.
